Most marketing reports are written to reassure, not inform.
If your monthly report leaves you knowing more numbers but no more about your business, it was written for the wrong audience. A report should tell you what changed, why, and what happens next.
The two failures we see most
The first is broken tracking, and it is far more common than owners expect. Conversion goals counting page views, duplicate tags double counting, forms that stopped firing after a redesign nobody told the agency about. Decisions get made on those numbers for months.
The second is volume as a substitute for insight. Twenty pages of charts exported from a dashboard is not reporting, it is evidence of activity. A busy owner reads the first page and nothing changes as a result.
What we set up
- Tracking installed and verifiedAnalytics, conversion goals, call tracking, and form tracking, tested against reality rather than assumed to be working.
- Attribution you can actually readA clear view of which channels produce customers, not just clicks, in language that does not require an analytics certification.
- One monthly reportA single document covering what we did, what moved, what did not, and what is next. Readable in ten minutes.
- The numbers that predict revenueLead volume, lead quality, response time, close rate, and cost per booked job. Not sessions and impressions.
- Quarterly review with an agendaA real conversation about the business rather than a walkthrough of a dashboard you could have read yourself.
- Everything in your accountsAnalytics, tag management, and call tracking registered to you. If we part ways you keep the entire history.
The first thing we do
Verify what you already have, before trusting a single number in it. We submit test enquiries, place test calls, and check that what the platform reports matches what actually happened. On a meaningful share of audits it does not.
That matters more than it sounds. Every optimisation decision, every budget shift, and every judgement about which channel is working rests on that data being true.
Common questions
We already have analytics. Is that enough?
Having it installed and having it correct are different. The most common finding in our audits is tracking that has quietly been wrong for months, usually since a site change nobody connected to it.
Do we get access to everything?
Yes, and it is in your name from day one. Analytics, tag manager, ad accounts, and call tracking. You can log in whenever you like and you keep all of it if you leave.
Can you tell exactly which ad produced which customer?
Sometimes, and anyone claiming perfect attribution is overselling. Privacy changes and multi device journeys make some of it genuinely unknowable. We are clear about what is measured, what is modelled, and what is a reasonable inference.
What about phone calls?
Tracked, and for most local businesses this is essential. If your customers phone rather than fill in forms and you are not tracking calls, your reporting is missing most of your actual pipeline.
What usually runs alongside this.
Paid advertising
Search, social, and retargeting measured on booked work rather than impressions.
